Privacy Policy.
This page explains what happens to information you share through this website. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
What this policy covers
This policy applies to oasismentalhealth.us and describes how Oasis Mental Health, PLLC handles information collected through the website.
If you are a client, this is not the policy that governs your health information. Protected health information created in the course of treatment is governed by our Notice of Privacy Practices, which offers considerably stronger protections than this website policy.
What we collect
Information you choose to send
The inquiry form on our contact page is operated by SimplePractice, the secure practice management system Amber uses. What you enter there goes directly into that system. It does not pass through this website, and we do not store a separate copy of it here.
If you email or call us instead, we receive whatever you choose to share that way.
Ordinary email is not secure. If you email us rather than using the form, please keep it general. A sentence about what brings you in is all we need to schedule a consultation. The secure form and the client portal are the right places for anything more detailed.
Nothing here is monitored for emergencies. Messages are typically answered within one business day. If you are in crisis, call or text 988, call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room.
Information collected automatically
Our web host records standard server logs when a page is requested: IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested, referring page, and the date and time. These logs are used to keep the site running and secure. They are not used to build a profile of you.
What we do not do
We want to be specific here, because most privacy policies are vague on this point:
- This site sets no cookies of its own.
- We have installed no analytics software. No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no heatmapping, no session recording, on any page we built.
- There is no advertising or retargeting technology. Visiting this site will not cause you to see ads for therapy elsewhere on the internet.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. Not to anyone, for any purpose.
One honest exception. The secure inquiry form on our contact page is built and operated by SimplePractice and embedded into the page. That embedded form loads SimplePractice's own tag manager and a Google reCAPTCHA spam check, either of which may set cookies of their own when you interact with the form. We do not control them and we do not receive analytics from them. Their practices are governed by SimplePractice's and Google's own privacy policies. Every other page on this site is free of tracking of any kind.
Third parties involved in running this site
A small number of outside services are necessarily involved when you use this website. Each has its own privacy practices:
- Vercel hosts the website and maintains the server logs described above.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces used here. Loading a font transmits your IP address to Google. If you would rather avoid this, most browsers and content blockers can block third-party font requests without breaking the site.
- SimplePractice operates our practice management system, the secure client portal, and the inquiry form embedded on the contact page. Anything you submit through that form goes directly into Amber's secure practice system rather than to an ordinary inbox. When you use the embedded form, click through to schedule, or sign in to the portal, you are on SimplePractice's platform and their privacy policy and terms apply to that activity.
How we use what we collect
Information you send through the contact form or by email is used to respond to you, schedule a consultation, and carry out the administrative work of running the practice. That is the whole list. We do not add you to a marketing list, and we do not send newsletters.
How long we keep it
Inquiries from people who do not become clients are retained only as long as needed to respond and to keep an ordinary business record, and are then deleted. Once you become a client, your clinical record is governed by the Notice of Privacy Practices and by Texas record-retention requirements for licensed clinical social workers, which are considerably longer.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you from a website inquiry, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email connect@oasismentalhealth.us or call (512) 333-0070 and we will take care of it. If you are a client, your rights in your clinical record are broader and are described in the Notice of Privacy Practices.
Children and teens
This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information online from children under 13. Amber works with clients as young as six, but the inquiry that starts that work comes from a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has sent us information through this site, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with an updated effective date. Material changes affecting how we handle information already collected will be communicated directly where we are able to do so.
