For the moments that feel too heavy to carry alone.
Direct, evidence-based therapy for kids, teens, and adults, with Amber Martinez, LCSW. A practice built on the belief that real change comes from understanding why you're stuck, and learning how to get unstuck.
A place to land when life has gotten too heavy to hold.
Hi, I'm Amber.
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and Oasis is the practice I built for the people I work best with. Clients who want a therapist who'll be honest with them, who's trained in real clinical methods, and who won't waste their time.
I work with kids as young as six, teens, young adults, and adults. Many have been in therapy before and didn't get what they needed. Some are parents at the end of their rope. Some are high-functioning adults whose lives look fine from the outside and don't feel that way from the inside.
What I offer is straightforward: insight into what's actually driving the pattern, paired with concrete tools to change it.
Therapy that works on what's underneath, and what to do about it.
Understanding the pattern.
Therapy here begins with what's actually underneath: the patterns, the history, the parts of the story that haven't been heard yet. Drawn from psychodynamic, attachment-based, and trauma-focused work.
Most people don't change because they decided to. They change because they finally understood.
Practicing the change.
Insight alone doesn't always translate to a different week. So the work continues with concrete, evidence-based skills you can actually use between sessions. The work draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).
This is the half that holds up after Tuesday afternoon.
Making it stick.
Most therapy stalls when one half is missing. Talk alone often doesn't move the needle. Skills alone often don't stick. Together, they do. And that's what Oasis is built around.
Especially for clients who've been in therapy before, and didn't get what they needed.
"I believe that insight, when paired with the right tools, creates real, lasting change."Amber Martinez, LCSW
Who we work with.
Real life, and the harder parts of it. From age six through adulthood, including families navigating it together.
Children
Anxiety, behavior, big feelings, family dynamics. For parents who want a real plan, not reassurance.
Teens & preteens
Anxiety, depression, self-harm, eating disorders, identity, the weight of school and social life.
Young adults
Transitions, relationships, autonomy. The space between who you were raised to be and who you are.
Adults
Trauma, anxiety, mood, relationships. Lives that look fine on the outside and have stopped working on the inside.
Families
When a child or teen's struggles have started reshaping the household, we work with the whole system.
