Hi, I'm Amber.
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and Oasis is the practice I built for the people I work best with. Clients who want a therapist who'll be honest with them. Who's trained in real clinical methods. Who won't waste their time.
I trained at the University of Texas at Arlington, where I earned my Master of Social Work with a concentration in mental health and substance abuse. In the six years since, I've worked with clients across a wide range of ages and presentations: anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, eating disorders, ADHD, mood disorders, self-injurious behaviors, and the relational and family patterns that don't always come with a clean diagnostic label.
What I've learned in that time is straightforward. Insight into what's actually driving the pattern, paired with concrete tools to change it. That's what creates lasting growth. Talk alone usually doesn't. Skills alone usually don't. Together, they do.
I work with kids as young as six, teens, young adults, and adults. Many of my clients have been in therapy before and didn't get what they needed. Some are parents at the end of their rope with a struggling kid, looking for someone who'll give them a real plan, not reassurance. Some are high-functioning adults whose lives look fine on the outside and don't feel that way on the inside. Some are clients managing eating disorders, searching for a provider with specialist training and a weight-inclusive approach.
I draw on a range of evidence-based modalities depending on what the work needs: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), attachment-based work, and trauma-focused care. The methods serve the work, not the other way around.
What you can expect from me is honesty. I'll tell you what I'm seeing, what I think, and what I'd recommend. You'll always know where you stand. We'll work on what actually changes things, not the version of it that sounds good in session.
When I'm not in the office, you'll find me somewhere in the Austin hill country with my dog, or volunteering with local nonprofit mental health organizations. I built Oasis in Northwest Hills because this is where I live, and I see clients from across west Austin: Lakeway, Westlake, Rollingwood, Tarrytown, and the surrounding neighborhoods. The name means a place to land. That's what I want it to be for the people who reach out.
Trained for the work.
